| The
sixth Business Alpha Edinburgh course ran from 8 September
to 1 December 2005 |
On 8 September Cameron Stout, who won Big Brother two years previously, gave a most interesting account of his life.
On 1 September just over 200 people attended a pre-Business Alpha lunchtime with guest speaker, Tom Wright, the Bishop of Durham, known to many for his appearances on television and his popular book. He gave an excellent address on the subject: The Da Vinci Code - Fact and Fiction? Thereafter he answered some questions.
At
the Celebration Lunch on 1 December a number of attendees
gave glowing testimonies of the course.

from a previous Course |
"I
found the course life changing. It offered the chance to hear about Christianity and the Bible on an informal invitational basis. The format is particularly appealing for someone at work with limited time to attend an evening course in that each seesion lasts no more than a lunchtime and thus can be be taken within 'office hours'.
"One of the most amazing things to me is that the course was written by people who were not originally Christians but lawyers and were challenged to disprove the Bible as being a true testament of fact. Having read and studied the Bible they were unable to come up with arguments against its validity especially given the independent witness accounts of Jesus' life and other facts contained within the Bible, i.e. the evidence is compelling."

"This was a really wonderful and life-changing course for me. When I was first told about the course I, like many I assume, was a bit unsure about what to expect, but the first meeting was so relaxed and friendly and the speaker was superb. After that day I realised that my life had begun to change."

Your organisation (OASIS) is well-named because the weekly talks and discussions afterwards began to seem like an oasis in the desert of the working week! The more I listened, learned and discussed about God, Christ and the Holy Spirit, the more I wanted to find out and have read Nicky Gumbel's books as well as others on the subjects. This has led to a real deepening of my faith.
"The culmination of the course with the away-day was a great opportunity to explore the issues raised during the course, as well as the chance to get to know the other people on the course better."
