OASIS is a non-profit organisation serving the business community and exploring connections between business and spirituality. The organisation is sponsored by the Parish Church of St Cuthbert and works in conjunction with St John's Church and St Andrew's and St George's West Church who form the ecumenical grouping 'Edinburgh City Centre Churches TOGETHER'.

OASIS works in partnership with business matters and Work Place Chaplaincy Scotland in an organised and mutually supportive way. While each organisation maintains its own distinctive mission, purpose, ethos and approach they work together to promote "well being" in the workplace by holding joint events.

Whiile we still await the appointment of our new Minister at St Cuthbert's we now know that a new Workplace Chaplain to the City Centre will start work early in april. Once in post they will lead us forward in the service we provide, in partnership with businesss matters, to the business community. Meantime you will be delighted to hear that the retiring collection at the Community Carol Service which took place on Tuesday 20th December in St Cuthbert's raised £495 for Edinburgh's Homeless Charity Fresh Start. Thank you all very much indeed.

We are holding a Community Easter Service on Thursday 13th April at 12.45pm followed by a light lunch and we look forward to welcoming you. Further details can be found here.

OASIS continues to regularly offer times of worship through the week when a few minutes peace and reflection in the beauty of St Cuthbert's is provided, notably at the Tuesday 1pm Healing Service.

There is also the monthly 'soul space' event which has proved to be especially valued by several of those who work in local businesses. These occur on the 1st Wednesday of each month (except June, July and August) with the church open from 12.30 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to 19.30, offering optional worship with reflection at 13.00 and 19.00. We continue exploring the general theme of "Meals with Jesus" and on Wednesday 5th April the topic is "Fasting or Feasting". There will be a second sould space during Holy Week on Wednesday 12 April when the topic will be "The Last Supper". More general details about Soul Space can be found here.

OASIS now has a Facebook presence here. Please connect with us through Facebook to get more information about forthcoming events. OASIS has also set up a new web presence at http://www.st-cuthberts.net/oasis.php.

Pending the arrival of our new Minister we continue to be well looked after by the Rev John Cowie (Moderator) and the Rev Charlie Robertson (Assistant Minister). They are available to all in the business community (of any faith or none) who would want to talk with someone and are happy to Be There. The St Cuthbert's Parish Profile can be viewed on the St Cuthbert's Website.
